Every year too many people die or are seriously injured on our roads. We work to reduce this number as these losses have a huge impact on whānau, friends and our communities.

The Marketing Advisor is part of a team that develops, delivers and manages high-profile evidence-based marketing-led campaigns and initiatives to address complex issues. Promoting good road user choices, the programme strives to driving long-term sustainable social change and build social licence.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have at least 3 years of experience supporting the development and management of marketing campaigns and initiatives
• Have experience in social media and data-led marketing to drive engagement across a diverse range of audiences
• Have excellent communications and relationship skills
• Ideally, have experience of working in or an understanding of customer-centric design
• Ideally, have experience working with external suppliers, such as creative and media agencies
• Be a team player who embraces working collaboratively across and within teams
• Be adaptable and comfortable navigating ambiguity and change
• Be creatively inclined and adept at planning, organising and delivering to deadline all while juggling a busy workload
• Bring your attention to detail, a can-do attitude, a high level of initiative and good judgement
• And, of course, bring your curiosity, your sense of humour and your passion to make a difference for all New Zealanders.

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.

The Education and Marketing team plays a strategic role in resetting the road safety conversation to enable the success of Road to Zero, New Zealand’s road safety strategy. Specifically, the team is accountable for building social licence for road safety interventions and driving long-term sustained behaviour change through a range of education and marketing programmes. Our goal is to increase peoples motivation and capability to use the land transport system safely by applying a deep understanding of our audiences and their environment.
