Waldorf University Hiring for Bookstore Associate at Remote Full Time
Waldorf University is seeking a team member to join the Bookstore staff as a Bookstore Associate. This is a full-time, year-round and benefit eligible position 35-40hs per week on average, extended hours up to 40hrs possible during peak times or Bookstore/University events. Scheduled hours between 8:30-5:00, M-F with some flexibility to adjust start/end times within reason. Our Bookstore offers a variety of retail merchandise, textbooks, and services.
The primary function of this position is to provide excellent customer service to our customers, both internal and external, residential and online. In addition to the responsibilities listed below, we are seeking someone who has the skills and interest in online retail promotion and customer service. The ideal candidate will exemplify qualities in service, organization, presentation, and is technically in-tune with use of online technology, including social media platforms.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
- Provide excellent customer service to patrons of the Bookstore including acknowledgement, offering assistance and answering questions
- Cashier functions (register, internal charges, gift wrapping)
- Assist with the textbook adoption process for residential students and online
- Maintain website, update online merchandise inventory, and assist with promotion/marketing of merchandise
- Continuously assist/maintain the appearance of the Bookstore (ie…stocking, in size order, folded, organized, dusted, clean and neat)
- Assist with the organization of the storeroom in preparation of restocking, inventory and incoming orders
- Assist with inventory procedures (product check in, stocking, auditing)
Qualifications/Qualities
- Established customer service experience a must
- Desire to provide friendly, helpful service and to exceed expectations of customers
- Experience in a retail environment helpful, preferably with cash register and ten key experience
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that may vary, especially during peak times include occasional weekends or evenings
- Open to shared responsibilities
