About the role

As a Cable Jointer, you will join our Network Utilities Team to provide distribution network services including cable jointing for repairs, maintenance and construction on WEL’s network

Duties

• Maintaining, jointing and terminating PVC, XLPE and Paper-Lead 400 Volt, 11,000 Volt and 33,000 Volt underground cables
• High voltage switching
• Participating in a callout roster for 24hr fault response and repair.
• Liaising with the control centre, dispatch and operations staff, and other utilities/authorities

Skills and experience

• An uncompromising commitment to workplace safety
• EWRB registration and current practicing licence
• 3+ years experience as a Cable Jointer (LV / HV)
• Experience switching operator
• Sound knowledge of restoration of fault damaged lines, installations & cables
