Kia mahi ngātahi mō Pōneke mō tōna āpōpō | Working together for Wellington’s future.
About the role
The Play and Active Recreation Partnership Specialist works to build partnerships with play, active recreation and community organisations – and deliver projects, programmes and campaigns that grow participation and support people to be more active. You’ll work with organisations to understand barriers to people being more active and how we can support. Primarily, you will be managing the LeisureCard, and all its partnerships, programming and processes. This includes managing 30+ partners, activations such as guided walks, and the LeisureCard newsletter and ongoing communications.
This role and the team are human-centred and purpose driven – the team are passionate about improving community engagement with sport and recreation, using parks, open spaces and facilities.
About you
This role would suit someone with experience engaging with stakeholders and the community, as well as someone with project coordination/management skills. You’ll be passionate about advocacy and understanding minority groups and vulnerable people in the community, especially disabled people. You might have a background in recreation, community events or social services. You will be both highly empathetic and delivery focused, with excellent planning, organisation and time management skills.
