The opportunity

Whether you are a school leaver, looking for a change, or looking for a new opportunity, our Infrastructure Skills Centre will give you the start you need. This is your first step to your future in the water industry!

This opportunity will open the door for you to multiple career options. You will start as a trainee and from there you can move towards a serviceperson role, onto a qualified serviceperson role or even a team leader!

We will provide you with foundational skills, capabilities and knowledge that will help you create a meaningful career delivering water services to and from our communities.

About you:

We are looking for people who:

• Have NCEA level 1 literacy and numeracy standards
• The ability to use technology
• Are keen to obtain qualifications
• Can be reliable and will attend classes on time
• Demonstrate they are sensible and hard-working

Applications close: Sunday 28 August 2022 and we will be holding an Information & Interview Evening on Wednesday 7 September 2022 from 5:30pm for those selected to interview.

Applicants will also be required to undergo drug, alcohol, and medical testing prior to commencing employment with Wellington Water. As part of terms and conditions of employment you will be vaccinated against Tetanus, Hepatitis A&B, Polio and Typhoid. Vaccinations are paid for by Wellington Water. You must also be legally entitled to work long-term in New Zealand.
