The Chief Operating Office (COO) is responsible for delivering a more consistent approach to business operations across Wells Fargo, strengthening the company’s risk and control infrastructure, and delivering effective and efficient enterprise services to employees and customers.
The COO group includes the head of Operations, who is jointly responsible for line of business operations with each of the five LOB CEOs. Operations functions include contact center operations, client servicing support, money movements within our businesses, lending operations, and other functions.
The COO group also includes a number of teams dedicated to strengthening Wells Fargo’s risk and control infrastructure. These include the Control Executive team; Regulatory and Policy Affairs; Enterprise Customer Excellence; Sales Practices Oversight and Management; and Strategic Execution and Operations.
The Chief Administrative Office, encompassing the Corporate Properties Group; Corporate Security; Enterprise Business Resiliency; Strategic Programs and Process Improvement; Enterprise Change Management; Supply Chain Management; and Data Management and Insights, delivers important services for our employees and customers.
The Data Management Solutions Services (DMSS) team within Data Management & Insights (DMI) is a growing organization. The team’s mission is to enable enterprise data governance capabilities, such as metadata management, data control and quality, stewardship management, etc. The team manages these capabilities in alignment with the enterprise data strategy, technology architecture, policies, and other data governance needs across the Wells Fargo enterprise.
The Metadata Delivery Solutions Leader will report to the head of Enterprise Metadata and will work closely with other Enterprise Metadata managers, full times employees, and contract resources to lead and support metadata and lineage delivery initiatives, including onboarding of applications to auto-harvest technical metadata and data linage, testing and performing business validation, and coordination of all metadata involvement across business and technology teams.
The position requires expert level understanding of metadata management concepts, experience with enterprise data governance capabilities, services, and tools, and an ability to lead and influence discussions across a wide spectrum of audiences. The position will collaborate with teams across the enterprise and coordinate with our business and technology partners to align their metadata practices with the data management policy, requirements, and capabilities.
This role has a high level of exposure to analytics leadership across the Company as well as to partner organizations within and outside of DMI. There is a significant opportunity to influence the future of analytics at Wells Fargo and gain exposure to some of the most innovative areas of analytics, technology, and data management in the industry today.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage ongoing prioritization of SOR onboarding to drive scope priorities.
Facilitate all metadata onboarding involvement across business and tech teams.
Accountable for technical metadata processes for both harvested and stated technical metadata and data lineage.
Lead a team of analysts to perform technical metadata intake and validation responsibilities to ensure quality standards are met.
Lead a team of analysts to perform data lineage testing and validation to ensure quality standards and regulatory requirements are met.
Develop the program processes, procedures, and coordination of activities across the metadata delivery solutions team to monitor for completion and program reporting.
Drive development and implementation of projects to enhance existing processes.
Work closely with the lead and coordinate with our business and technology partners to align their metadata practices with the enterprise data governance policy, requirements, and capabilities.
Represent the DMSS team in partner work efforts, providing data management experience, including an understanding of concepts, practices, procedures, and tools – providing strong analytical, innovative, and creative problem solving skills.
Hire and manage full time, contract, and consultant resources, both on-shore and off-shore while optimizing the organizational structure to deliver efficient solutions

Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: data management, data governance, data quality or data analysis
4+ years of management experience
3+ years of experience in data management related areas such as metadata or lineage, data governance or data quality
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge and understanding of data governance program development and implementation in a large organization across multiple business functions
Good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management

Ability to facilitate team meetings or present information to an audience
Ability to create and deliver dynamic presentations
Experience conducting project meetings, presentations and status reporting
Other Desired Qualifications
Track record of delivering significant analytic value in a line of business or function
Data Lineage experience: PDE level lineage, lineage harvesting recommendations, and system level data flows
Experience leading stakeholder teams to design and develop strategies incorporating the use of data
Experience deploying and leveraging program management tools (e.g. SharePoint, JIRA, Microsoft Project, Tableau, Collibra)
Knowledge and understanding of financial industry compliance requirements
Basic knowledge and understanding of data integrity management practices and procedures
Experience developing and monitoring compliance with policy and standards, specifically around metadata
