About this role:
The Enterprise Metadata and Lineage (EML) team within D ata Management & Insights (DMI) is a growing organization.
The team’s mission is to enable enterprise data governance capabilities, such as metadata management (Technical and Business), data control and quality, stewardship management, etc. The team manages these capabilities in alignment with the enterprise data strategy, technology architecture, policies, and other data governance needs across the Wells Fargo enterprise. The result of which will allow impact analysis, source tracing and optimization, risk mitigation assessment and more, using metadata as a competitive advantage to best serve Wells Fargo customers’ financial needs.
The Lead Data Management Analyst will report to the Metadata Distribute Delivery Manager . This position requires experience in data management, data governance, data quality or data analysis to serve as a foundation to basic concepts and terms. Exposure to enterprise scale data governance tools and processes is also advantageous. This position will collaborate and partner with constituents across the department and broadly with application teams, report teams, data domain partners and subject matter experts from other governance groups. A successful candidate will have a bias for action, strong attention to detail, focus on risk management and possess a continuous improvement mindset.
The position will collaborate with teams across the enterprise and coordinate with our business and technology partners to align their metadata practices with the data management policy, requirements, and capabilities.
In this role, you will:
Organize and lead companywide initiatives to ensure that data quality is maintained so that data can effectively support business processes
Manage ongoing prioritization of SOR onboarding to drive scope priorities
Facilitate all metadata onboarding involvement across business and tech teams.
Deliver metadata and/or data lineage and flow services to fulfill enterprise data management policy and procedure
Deliver business metadata to fulfill enterprise data management policy and procedure.
Support technical metadata processes for both harvested and stated technical metadata and data lineage.
Perform technical metadata intake and validation responsibilities to ensure quality standards are met.
Perform data lineage testing and validation to ensure quality standards and regulatory requirements are met.
Oversee analysis and reporting in support of regulatory requirements
Adhere to data governance standards and procedures
Identify new data sources and develop recommendations for assessing the quality of new data
Lead project teams and mentor less experienced staff member
Represent client in cross-functional groups to develop companywide data governance strategies
Partner with groups and various levels of seniority companywide to coordinate and drive collaboration on solution design and remediation execution
Required Qualifications, US:
5+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning
5+ years of experience in data management related areas such as metadata or lineage, data governance or data quality
5+ years of relationship management experience with business and technology partners
3+ years of process design or improvement experience
3+ years of risk management experience
1+ year of leadership experience including coaching, training, and mentoring

Data Lineage experience: PDE level lineage, lineage harvesting recommendations and system level data flows
Experience leading stakeholder teams to design and develop strategies incorporating the use of data
Experience conducting project meetings, presentations and status reporting
Experience using workflow management and reporting tools (i.e., SharePoint, Jira, Tableau)
Experience using data management and governance tools (i.e., Ab Initio, Collibra, Alation, Informatica)
Knowledge and understanding of financial industry compliance requirements
Knowledge and understanding of data integrity management practices and procedures
Experience developing and monitoring compliance with policy and standards, specifically around metadata.
Experience with process design or improvement experience
