About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Quantitative Analytics Specialist…
In this role, you will:
Develop efficient data pipeline to enhance data exploration, data extraction, data analysis, and modeling data creation for fraud model development utilizing python based open-source big data computing platform
Work in a R&D environment analyzing and extracting predictive patterns from multiple source of records containing billions of transactions
Lead and participate in critical debugging, testing, validation, data quality check, and performance tuning for data extraction, data wrangling, and feature engineering code written in Python, PySpark, and/or SQL
Collaborate with key database owners to ensure data are business driven and properly retrieved with highest data integrity
Prepare ad-hoc analysis and reporting as requested
Responsible for documenting and presenting detailed data processes and results that are suitable for a variety of audiences
Lead and participate intensive team discussions, interactions with cross-functional teams, and dialogues with internal reviewers (Model Validation and Internal Audit)
Respond to ongoing analytical requests and data process controls from auditors and regulatory reviewers in timely manner
Required Qualifications, US:
4+ years of Quantitative Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Master’s degree or higher in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science
Desired Qualifications:
A PhD in a quantitative discipline
Solid SQL skills including query design and optimization
3+ years of experience in one of Teradata, MS SQL Server, DB2, Oracle, or other relational databases
1+ years of experience in NoSQL database such as MongoDB
Solid Python programming skills
Experience in data analysis and wrangling using pandas, PySpark, or numpy, etc.
Experience in big data environment utilizing distributed processing via Hadoop and Spark
Experience in SAS base, SAS macro, SAS SQL, and/or SAS stats, etc.
Fraud detection modeling/analytical experience in banking or financial service industry
Knowledge of, and hands-on experience with, statistical model development/validation, utilizing best modeling practices and methodologies in the areas of data processing, sampling, model design/specification, model performance assessment, and evaluation testing
Detail oriented and possess a results-driven attitude committed to the highest quality work
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
Experience developing partnerships and collaborating with other business and functional areas
