Payroll Clerk

Job Overview

The Payroll Clerk is responsible for completing accurate and timely payroll processing on a weekly basis for the entire Wescom team including paycheck processing, income tax withholding remittances and reporting, and other statutory deductions including child support, garnishments, etc. All employees must act with urgency, accountability, and flexibility to ensure Wescom’s core values are always followed.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Track employees in payroll system including entering of new employees, termination of employees, pay changes, department changes, etc.
• Prepare weekly payroll by reviewing employee timecards, employment agreements, and other reports using multiple systems to gather data.
• Present and work with CFO and other leaders to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll submission including ensuring cash needs are met and final payroll reports are shared with leadership.
• Remit and track completion of statutory deductions such as garnishments, child supports, etc., and income tax withholdings for various state and federal regulators including State Unemployment Agencies, State Income Tax Agencies, and Internal Revenue Service.
• Work closely with HR Coordinator for benefit deduction in payroll system and remittance including health insurance, life insurance and retirement contributions and reconciliation of such.
• Be an active safety role model and follow all safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Understanding of payroll process, including income tax requirements and state variations.
• Willingness and desire to learn and be trained.
• Computer skills, such as Microsoft Office with Excel required, and preference for those with knowledge of ADP Payroll Software.
• High school diploma.

Salary

$20.00/hour +

Hours

Expect 40 hours a week with a start time of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Mondat through Friday. with occasional hours outside of these times.
