Westat’s research, technical, and administrative staff of more than 2,000 is located at our headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, near Washington, DC.
Job Summary:
Westat is hiring qualified individuals to join multidisciplinary teams to support operations, monitoring/compliance/audit, and communications/technical assistance projects focusing on innovations in health care delivery intended to improve quality of care and reduce health care costs.
Job Responsibilities:
• Learning about innovative payment and health care delivery models and applying that knowledge to project tasks to assess compliance and communicate the models’ rules.
• Working collaboratively and coordinating with cross-functional project teams.
• Reviewing model participants’ materials and assessing and documenting whether they demonstrate adherence to model requirements.
• Developing and adhering to standard operating procedures.
• Conducting environmental scans to identify media reports about health care providers and assessing whether those reports pose risks to providers’ participation in innovative care programs.
• Conducting quality assurance of task-related work and client deliverables.
• Developing and managing timelines and processes and identifying and troubleshooting risks.
• Developing agendas and facilitating meetings.
• Writing policy briefings and option papers.
• Writing meeting or call notes and managing follow through of action items.
• Maintaining trackers to facilitate reporting to the client on statuses of action items, compliance reviews, audits, and other project activities.
Basic qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree in public health, social sciences, business, or a related field with 3-5 years of work experience in monitoring, compliance, and auditing work and an understanding of innovative payment models. Or A master’s degree in public health, social sciences, business, or a related field and 1-3 years of work experience in relevant areas.
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience working on monitoring, compliance, audit, fraud/waste/abuse topics in health care with private or government clients.
• Experience working with government or private health care payers/providers on innovations in payment and care delivery.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Have excellent attention to detail.
• Have a willingness to learn about health care transformation policies and how health care providers implement those policies.
• Be comfortable and effective working on multiple, complex tasks in close coordination with others.
