he Digital Mobile Engineering team is responsible for the technology that is the powerhouse for our award-winning Westpac Mobile App . The team collectively builds 10+ mobile apps (iOS, Android, iPad) for both external and internal customers. This team is entrusted to deliver the bank of tomorrow banking for our 5+ million customers.

ow will I help?

his is a unique opportunity for a full stack engineer to join our Group Tech Digital team.
T

his team uses wide range of technologies to design, architect, develop and support solutions for both internal and external customers.
C

ore Responsibilities in the role will include –
C

• ollaborate with team members in a cross-functional team to deliver world-class and high-quality products for Westpac Digital platform
  W
• rite clean code & build applications in line with the best practices
  A
• practical approach to development including the reuse of shared components and open-source projects
  D
• esign REST API using Open API Swagger specification by following the REST API design guidelines
  L
• ead the diagnosis and resolution of complex service issues to ensure effective development, maintenance, and support of applications
  K
• eep the code free from vulnerabilities by performing npm audit / sonar scan regularly
  P
• articipate in Agile ceremonies
  P
• rovide technical guidance/coaching/mentoring to other engineers
  C
• ontribute to growing the engineering community through our grad and intern programs
  C
• ontribute and be an advocate to the wider development and engineering community through participation in development guilds for knowledge sharing and learning.

hat do I need?

• xperience building RESTful API’s and front-end UIs using any of the following technology stack .NET, JAVA, NodeJS, ReactJS
  E
• xperience working with Agile methodology using tools like JIRA, BitBucket, Confluence etc.
  A
• n understanding of test-driven development with frameworks like Jest.
  E
• xperience with common development tools such as Git, Sonar, ESLint, Prettier and npm
  U
• nderstanding of frontend technologies like React/Redux would-be a plus
  E
• nd-to-end experience that extends beyond front-end to the back end is a plus
  E
• xperience with CI/CD tool such as Bamboo, Jenkins and exposure to testing automation
  P
• assion for delivering quality customer experience as well as writing quality code for reusability and scalability

• ound enterprise application architecture experience in design patterns, concurrency, and performance
  K
• eeping up to date with latest trends in technology with a passion to bring new ideas to turn to reality
