Who We Are?
Westpac is a strong and trusted brand in the New Zealand financial services market. What you may not know is that we deliver our innovative banking products and great customer outcomes using the best tech available and teams empowered to deliver for our customers.
Spread across Wellington and Auckland, we work in Tribes, consisting of business product managers, software product owners and agile squads as well as engineers, all working together to deliver the best outcomes for our customers. We call it the Westpac Way of Working and we want you to be part of it.
Want to be part of a leading API and microservices team in NZ?
Join the Consumer Segments Tribe at Westpac. We are on a mission to provide the best customer experience in New Zealand. We have a diverse group of software engineers that excel at everything they work on.
How will you help?
In this Chapter Lead role in the Consumer Segments Tribe, you will provide technical leadership and expertise to the squads, ensuring we build mission critical microservices in-line with modern best practices.
You will also be a leader for your Chapter and work with the community to uplift our craft practice. Delivery is an important aspect of this role, so you will be delivering alongside other engineers working with Product Owners and designers.
You will also have People Leadership responsibilities including growing and supporting the members of your chapter and being involved in planning of upcoming work across tribes and squads. We care about our people and culture and believe in fostering growth and continuous improvement in all aspects of what we do. This is very much a role where you will demonstrate effective servant leadership and empower the engineers you work with.
This is a senior role for which we would normally expect several years of relevant experience. We do not have a minimum number in mind as this will vary according to what you have been doing in that time. Quite simply, if this role speaks to you and you feel ready for the challenge, we are eager to talk to you.
For this role you will need experience of:
