We are looking for multiple Application Support Specialists with experience in payment systems to be part of a team who help support, maintain, and develop our critical payment systems.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

You will be part of a team who help support, maintain, and develop our critical payment system used to settle and exchange payments between New Zealand Domestic Banks. The primary application is vendor developed, and the team is responsible for the integration of the application with other WNZL Core systems. The application is also being upgraded and the infrastructure is being modernised and re-platformed into containers and microservices.

Your skills will help ensure that the application and supporting infrastructure is resilient, fit for purpose and current.

As part of an Agile team, you will help prioritise and refine the work and adapt techniques and technologies to improve productivity and quality, reduce risk and maintain a real customer focus.

We are seeking an experienced person who has delivered in complex, large-scale environments with a broad knowledge of software solutions.

Please note: – This position requires participation in an afterhours on call support roster.

• At least 4 plus years’ experience in application support
• Ideally must have good experience with Payment Systems
• Experience with monitoring, incident triage, and problem analysis
• Experience with application deployments and support of deployment pipelines
• Experience with software patching and configuration changes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including confidence in communicating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

Nice to have:

• Experience with IBM mainframe systems and COBOL would be an advantage
• Exposure to Oracle databases
• SAS
• CI/CD, Source Control, DevOps tools, and Kubernetes or Containerization experience.
