Weta Digital Looking for Lighting Department Crew Coordinator at Wellington City, Wellington Full Time

We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced Lighting Crew Coordinator to join our Shots Realm team.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and building a team who sit at the juncture between creativity and technology in a company that continues to push the boundaries of the VFX craft. As the Crew Coordinator you will be working closely with the Department Manager, Crew Manager and HOD. This role is primarily admin based but has a strong focus on supporting artists. You’ll therefore play a part in helping to develop meaningful and trusting relationships and support initiatives that drive individual and team performance.

We’re looking for a crew coordinator who has knowledge of the VFX workflow. As such you will have at least 2+ years of experience as a coordinator and be comfortable using production tools such Microsoft office packages, especially Excel.

Your key responsibilities will include –

• Being crew facing, you will be a daily contact for the Lighting team, as such you’ll have a people-centric (as opposed to a process-centric) approach
• Handling administration tasks within the department
• Assisting the Crew Manager in collating feedback on crew and organizing feedback sessions
• Maintaining training platforms such as the Department Twiki, Onboarding platforms, and identifying training initiatives
• Performing Health & Safety inductions when required
• Assisting in the recruitment process alongside HOD & Crew Manager
• Organising the planning & administration of show seating
• Ensure that all crew are effectively onboarded into their department and that they are provided with everything needed for early success.
• Assisting the DM in approval of leave requests, timesheets and overtime hours.
• Organising Dept morale boosters
• Covering meetings / note taking during meetings when requested by Department Manager or Senior Production Manager

Being able to use your initiative, be self-motivated and adapt to change will be critical to your success in this role. Our ideal crew coordinator is capable of leading teams with enthusiasm, highly organised and can juggle various priorities in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a calm and personable demeanor. You’ll be a confident and clear communicator, have excellent interpersonal and time-keeping skills and be able to troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise.
