About The Role

WeTheHobby is seeking a skilled and versatile Software Engineer to join our innovative team, working at the intersection of sports, entertainment, and eCommerce. This role focuses on full-stack development, with a strong emphasis on front-end technologies using TypeScript and React, alongside back-end development with .NET, C#, and Express. The ideal candidate will contribute to building reusable front-end components, integrating third-party APIs, designing intuitive UI mockups in Figma, and writing comprehensive tests.

Additionally, they will participate in key team processes, including standups, demos, and planning sessions. The position requires a background in computer science, proficiency in object-oriented programming, and experience with relational databases. Preferred skills include expertise in REST and GraphQL APIs, ORM frameworks, front-end frameworks like React or Vue.js, and cloud hosting services. This is a dynamic opportunity for a motivated developer who thrives in a fast-paced, entertainment-driven environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Front-end development using Typescript and React
• Building reusable front-end components
• Back-end development using .Net, C#, and Express
• Integration with 3rd-party APIs
• Creating system designs and UI mockups in Figma
• Writing comprehensive tests
• Participate in team processes like standups, demos, and planning
• Working in-person and remotely as needed

Requirements

• Possess/working towards a Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science-related discipline
• Ability to write and debug your own code
• Experience with object-oriented languages
• Knowledge of relational databases
• Utilization of client-server communications including APIs, webhooks, and websocket messaging

Preferred Skills And Experiences

• Strong development skills with C# or Java
• Keen abilities in integrating with REST and GraphQL APIs
• Comfort intelligently storing data and running optimized queries using PostgreSQL or MS SQL
• Utilization of ORMs such as Entity Framework and Dapper
• Adept with HTML5, CSS3, and TypeScript/JavaScript
• Experience with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
• Have developed React components using component libraries or CSS frameworks such as MUI, Tailwind, or Shadcn
• Automated unit, load, UI, etc. testing
• Mobile app development on iOS and Android with native code or cross-platform solutions such as React Native, Flutter, Xamarin, or others
• Knowledge of cloud hosting services running on Azure, AWS, or GCP
