Position Objective

The IT Test Analyst responsibilities include:

Develop test plans and test cases to ensure all required changes meet the functional requirements and adhere to departmental standards. Perform testing against the written test cases to ensure that software/applications function accordingly. Testing is to be completed for projects and Service Requests relating to the Fuel and Prepaid businesses, including post implementation Production Verification Testing. Assist in the management of all test environments and test tools, including repeatable test processes; ensuring test plans, scripts and environments are reusable and robust. Assist in maintaining Performance, Load and Stress Test Suites for Fuel and Prepaid systems

Testing and Analysis

• Analyse business requirements to define test strategy and create test plans, test scripts and test data
• Perform manual and automated testing (Progression and Regression) of software programs to compare to functional specifications and adherence to departmental standards
• Identify, analyse and document defects, questionable functions, errors and inconsistencies in software program functions, screens and content.
• Communicate and maintain defect register with developers and project teams
• Capture test results and create traceability matrix to establish evidence of testing alignment with business/functional requirements
• Produce Test Summary Reports at the end of testing
• Recommend testing improvements, maximising reuse of test collateral and approach
• Perform regular vendor release testing
• Assist with business analysis and writing of requirements as needed for projects and Service Requests

Regression Test Suites & Tools

• Assist in the creation and maintenance of regression test suites, environments and test tools for key Fuel and Prepaid systems.
• Update regression test suites to reflect changes in system functionality introduced by projects and Service Requests.
• Perform regression testing as required as part of agreed project testing approach.
• Perform regular end-to-end regression testing in conjunction with performance/stress/load testing.

Performance/Stress/Load Test Suites & Tools

• Assist in the creation and maintenance of performance test suites and tools, including FINSIM and SOAPUI test environments.
• Assist in the development of automated test scripts and regular testing to verify production capacity to meet peak processing demand for the Prepaid business.

Test Environments

• Assist in the maintenance of up to date test environments and test tools to meet testing needs of projects and service requests, including regular regression and performance testing.
• Assist in the maintenance of up to date test environment documentation and user reference guides.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Education and or Experience

Mandatory

• Strong understanding of testing process and methodology
• Experience with test environments and test tools
• Experience in writing test plans and test scripts preferably for web application, switch, terminal and card management systems
• Proven track record in performing testing including system testing, end to end testing and performance testing.

Desirable

• Good understanding of web applications and technologies
• Good understanding of AS2805 and transaction switching
• Good business analysis skills
• Experience with Card Management Systems
• Experience with mobile application testing
• Experience in performance and regression testing
• Experience in FINSIM financial simulator and establishing SOAPUI test environments
• Experience with Quality Centre test management tool
