Job Summary:
Responsible for specialized distribution center tasks in order picking, receiving, shipping, and returns or may have a generalized task working in other departments.
Preferred Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
- At least 6 months of relative experience.
- Forklift experience is considered an asset.
- HS Diploma or GED is strongly preferred. 0-2 years of experience in the area of responsibility.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities:
- Sorting, picking, stocking, and staging using RF scanners.
- Load and unload materials to and from designated storage areas, such as racks, shelves, or vehicles.
- Stack or pile materials, such as boxes of products, ladders, and/or pallets of construction industrial materials.
- Maintains condition of work area (i.e. free of trash, product in the correct location, etc.).
- Follows company safety policies and procedures and encourages other associates to do the same.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding work environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Nature and Scope:
- Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices, or instructions. Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor. Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor.
- Under close supervision, exercises limited latitude/independent judgment. Work typically involves detailed checks or close review of output by a senior coworker and/or supervisor.

Work Environment:
- Usually located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomforts, such as dust, fumes, or odors.
- Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.
