Come grow with us!General Purpose and Scope of Position:The primary function of this role is supporting strategic DOT initiatives toimprove safety and regulatory compliance.Key Skills and Abilities Include:Minimum 3 years of fleet management with DOT complianceExperience dealing with hazardous materialsExperience in providing online and in-person training at all levelsEffective written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel and PowerPointKey Personal Attributes Include:Knowledgeable in dealing with hazardous materialsServe as a leader of change by implementing, communicating, and measuringsafety initiativesResults-oriented approach to safety compliance through effective communicationand trainingSelf-motivated, capable of analyzing and solving problems through innovativethought and experienceCommunicate risks and areas of concern to facilities and regional managementActively engage EHS and branches with training, coaching, and mentoring inorder to correct and improve DOT fleet safetySpecific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:Provide input to regional management and EHS with respect to theimplementation of DOT and fleet safety programsCoordinate with branches and equipment purchasing department to ensure properDOT compliance on vehicle purchasesCoordinate with fleet services and branch management to remediate equipmentfound by their department inspection to be non-compliantStrategy and implementation of electronic logging devicesStrategy and implementation of technology for compliance in IRP & IFTArequired reportingInterface with the Department of Transportation agency on compliance issuesand acts as a change agent for process and structural improvementsOversee all training (development and implementation) to ensure compliancewith DOT standardsCreate and maintain a driver playbook with standard operating procedures andvisual aids to assist drivers in how to do their job safelyAudit and create a database for required inspections of bulk hazardousmaterial tankersTrain EHS Representative on taking over current Fleet safety functions for theGreat LakesWork with branches to develop a visual guide to what their vehicles can haulgross and by axleTrain and support branches with hours of service complianceProvide training to support operations with oversized and overweight loadsProvide training on compliance as it relates to proper hazardous materialplacarding of fleetCoordinate/conduct training for proper vehicle loading, cargosecurement, and axel weight complianceDevelop an action plan at the branch level for repairs and maintenance,vehicle inspections, proper permit books, and PPE gearCompensation and Benefits:Competitive salary, based on experience and other factorsBenefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k, Employee AssistanceProgram, vacation, sick time, life insurance, + more); PensionPlan, 401k matchDrug-Free WorkplaceIf you are currently a Wilbur-Ellis employee, please notify your Managerprior to applying for this position.
