WE ARE RECRUITING IN MEXICO BUT THE POSITION IS IN LONDON.

THE SUCCESFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE SPONSORED TO APPLY FOR THEIR VISA WITH THE UK HOME OFFICE.

1. From 24 months duration

2. The training on Vicente Scaramuzza piano technique via weekly sessions with Mtro. Juan Rezzuto. Counting with experience on Scaramuzza Technique is a great advantage.

3. The training on British Piano Pedagogy and official syllabuses. This training will be provided by WKMT staff in a one-hour group meeting every week.

4. One to one piano lessons with Juan Rezzuto on request and if mutually agreed with the Maestro

6. The teacher delivers up to 39 hours of tuition to piano students of all ages and levels within the premises of WKMT Kensington, WKMT Camberwell and/or the students’ homes, as may be required by the WKMT staff manager.

In common practice, each teacher teaches up to 30/33 hours a week on average -although these teaching hours vary during the year-.

7. The role is paid from £23000 to £25600 per annum depending on the candidate’s experience, reputation and training.

8. WKMT might offer the option to rent living and working premises for those ones opting to live within or close to WKMT studios. This option might be available for anyone requesting it. All will depend on availability at the time of the request. The cost of the room is £550 per month all bills inclusive and comes with a digital or acoustic piano.

Job Description

• Teaching one-to-one piano and keyboard lessons for any amount of time required by the student and in line with our specific study plans. *

• Preparing pupils for performances, examinations, auditions, festivals, and gigs. Keeping an accurate record of student development through our IT system.*

• Engaging in non-tutorial activities like performances and recordings. *

• Executing basic office tasks. *

• Writing emails and referring to internet resources. *

• Developing and retaining students by effective teaching methods, including but not exclusive to good communication, structure and motivation. *

• Supporting your students in their use of internet resources. *

• Welcoming and hosting the students at a high standard of hospitality. This involves offering and preparing drinks during the lesson and complying with certain codes of courtesy self-presentation. *

• Collaborating with WKMT’s SEO endeavours -see SEO below- *

Role Requirements

• The role is for set teaching days to be defined by the WKMT staff manager in accordance with the workload set within the boundaries of 30-39 hours per week.

• DBS check (mandatory without exceptions). In the case of international applicants, we will require a reference from their local police authorities. This document will be then translated to English by the candidate.

• Experience in teaching would be preferred, however, a training programme is available and you will be granted free permission to attend this and regular training sessions regardless of your experience after the successful completion of your probationary phase

• Ensuring that you adhere to health and safety standards, and work in line with child protection legislation.

• You need to have a proven record of excellence or at least decency in your artistic deliveries (recordings, concert programs, newspaper articles etc.)

Clarifications and important notes

• Holidays: Due to the nature of our work at WKMT, we request that you take your paid holidays between or during the following periods:

[25th July to the 1st September]; and

[18th December to 5th January].

Some of these holidays can be used in the exchange for days off needed to deliver or prepare concerts.

• Day off: Every teacher has one day off a week to be agreed with the studio and excluding Saturday and Sundays.

• Teaching hours distribution: Your hours will be distributed unevenly throughout the week. The latter means we will do everything we can to cluster your hours but we cannot guarantee you will have all your students one after the other in all cases. We compensate for this scheduling by the fact that in most cases you have a piano available to practice during your spare time. Find a sample of one of our scholars below.

• Rotas: The rotas (students of the day) are sent to the teachers the day before. The latter means that you might see changes in your schedule until the evening before your teaching day. Students might book lessons on the day as well. The latter is not a usual, but it can indeed happen

• Covers: In the case, a member of the teaching team gets sick or is unable to teach, other team members will cover his or her hours. The staff manager will choose the hours each scholar will deliver based on students’ and teachers’ availabilities.

• Presentation: Everyone is responsible for his or her presentation. This means we expect teachers to keep an eye on their clothing and display.

In the current day and time, internet visibility is an aspect of musicians-promotion that cannot be bypassed. WKMT’s attitude towards the subject of SEO, Social media and marketing is concrete and addresses the training of its teachers so they can learn this discipline with the necessary level of in-depth.

All our teachers are thoroughly trained to produce material and promote the studio activities through a wide collection of activities including:

1. Social media diffusion -Facebook groups, profile management, Instagram…-

2. Backlinking in all its different forms.

3. Email Outreach

4. Article Production

5. Video Production

6. Keyword research

7. Competitors’ analysis

8. Citation audit and submission

9. Any other activity connected with the act of promoting our studio activities through the internet platform

SEO duties will be assigned specifically so they are dimensioned to fit in our teachers’ work schedules. All teachers commit to comply with the SEO duties in time and form.
