Social Media Coordinator
Location: The World Animal Protection Canada office is in Toronto, ON. We are currently working remotely, however hybrid working will be available for this position.
Contract: One year contract with potential to turn into a permanent position
Salary: $47K CAD

World Animal Protection is a global animal welfare organization, working in over 50 countries around the world. Our vision is a world where animals live free from cruelty and suffering. We are seeking a talented and collaborative individual to join our Communications team as we work to move the world to protect animals. World Animal Protection Canada is seeking a Social Media Coordinator. Reporting to the Social Media Manager, the Coordinator will be responsible for creating inspiring content, building and maintaining online communities, and supporting strategies for advocacy and fundraising campaigns.
Main duties and responsibilities
? Help develop and execute the organization’s social media strategies.
? Maintain and grow social media audiences through proactive and reactive community management strategies
? Develop fresh, trending, educational, and on-brand content including graphics, videos, and compelling copy
? Help interact with external stakeholders including brand ambassadors, government representatives, companies, and journalists to build and maintain strong professional relationships
? Proactively recommend improvements to social media processes, content and community management
? Monitor, analyze and provide reports on the performance of the organization’s social media assets
? On occasion, gather photo and video content from in-person events and campaign mobilization actions for use on social media channels
Qualifications and experience
? Experience developing branded digital and social media content for platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok
? Demonstrated ability to create compelling social media content, including copy, that converts users on advocacy and lead generation objectives
? Demonstrated ability to build and maintain engaged social media audiences
? Knowledge and experience with social media strategy, digital content creation, and community management
? Experience with content creation applications including Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva
? Experience reading and analyzing social media reports and with social media management tools (e.g. Sprout Social)
? An understanding of the digital marketing funnel, and the role of social media within larger digital marketing strategies, and for achieving business objectives
Desirable
? Knowledge of animal welfare, conservation or environmental issues
? Experience working effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders in different countries and different cultural contexts
? French language
? Experience working in an NGO or charity environment
