As a Tool and Die Technician at the Worthington Specialty Processing plant in Jackson, Michigan this role completes preventative maintenance and repair work on the press dies. This includes component replacement and repair. This position must have strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to participate in discussions aimed at identifying the root cause of problems and the countermeasures necessary to reduce the risks associated with repeat failures. This position requires the ability to complete work with little or no direction in an efficient and safe manner throughout the facility. This is a 12-hour shift, rotating monthly. Scheduled 7 days in a 14-day period with every other weekend being a 3-day weekend.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for entering data into maintenance system timely and accurately.

• Initiates and installs improvement projects.

• Performs basic failure root cause investigation.

• Maintains a clean and safe work area.

• Must be able to work independently; will be responsible for specific or cross-functional tasks, based on equipment.

• Other duties as assigned.

• Perform all duties in the spirit of Our Philosophy and in accordance to legal, ethical and contractual practices.

Desired Experience

• Advance Tool & Die Experience

• Lathe, mill and Blancard grinder experience is a plus

• Experience and willingness to perform maintenance tasks during outages is a plus

• Capability to read and interpret blueprints, work order instructions, weld symbols, and operate required tools involved in position

• Strong math skills

• Basic computer skills

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent
