This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Project Director, Sustainability, Energy and Climate Change for our San Francisco, CA office. The following locations will also be considered: San Francisco, CA; Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; New York, NY; Portland, OR; Bethlehem, PA; Arlington, VA; or other WSP USA office locations. Be involved in projects with our Climate Resilience and Sustainability Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
The successful candidate will lead client-facing teams in the design, implementation, and management of organizational sustainability and resilience programs. Candidates should be passionate about sustainability and resilience, self-motivated and self-directed, collaborative, and able to produce high-quality work products.
Your Impact
Managing client relationships and directing client delivery teams.
Leading business development activities with existing and prospective clients.
Developing and managing sustainability programs, in addition to related strategies and policies.
Developing company and product life cycle inventories for energy, GHG, water, waste, and other resources.
Designing sustainability performance targets including science-based GHG targets and context-based water targets.
Identifying and evaluating opportunities for resource reduction; analyzing renewable energy purchase options.
Assessing climate- and water-related risk, leveraging internal and external tools.
Developing and maintaining data management systems and business intelligence tools.
Producing sustainability disclosures and other communications aligned with leading frameworks (e.g., CDP, GRI, SASB, TCFD).
Researching leading sustainability programs and initiatives.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Sustainability, Energy, Environmental Studies, Business, Public Policy, or a related discipline.
7 – 10 years of related professional experience including experience in sustainability, energy, and/or management consulting.
Demonstrated expertise with sustainability frameworks including CDP, DJSI, GRI, the GHG Protocol, SASB, and TCFD.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects/project teams concurrently, and manage time efficiently.
Ability to collaborate remotely across geographies and platforms.
Well-developed interpersonal skills, maturity, credibility, confidence, and integrity.
Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate results via Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and related software and craft compelling presentations and reports.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
10-15 years of related experience
Master’s Degree.
Experience with programming and data science with the ability to develop and present analyses using programs including Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
Compensation and Benefits: WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career. Expected Salary (Colorado): $76,500 – $155,900.
WSP USA is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location.
