WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Supervising Engineer for our Kansas City, MO office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and management of the Mechanical Electrical, Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineering team for WSP USA Federal Programs group.
• Performance of engineering design and production support from project inception through construction
• Provide technical leadership/mentorship to junior engineers/designers
• Review other engineers’ work for code compliance and constructability.
• Estimate design effort and assist in negotiations with Architectural-Engineering firms and General Contractors.
• Address contractor submittals and requests for information (RFI’s).
• Building a team of high performance engineers for project delivery & execution.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a M/E/P engineer working on facilities/building projects
• Professional Engineering license
• Familiarity with Department of Defense projects (USACE/NAVFAC)
• Comfortable traveling domestically as well as internationally
• Familiarity with both Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build delivery methods for projects
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications:

• An active Secret clearance or CAC or able to obtain one.
