This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Structural Engineering Intern for our Morristown, NJ office. Be involved in projects with our Transportation Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
This opportunity is available for a college student in good standing working towards a degree in Civil Engineering within an accredited program.
Your Impact
Assist more experienced Engineers in broader Engineering activities
Perform basic calculations
Perform routine Engineering functions
Prepare sketches and drawings
Assist with quantity and cost estimates
Assist with field work, including bridge inspection
Assisting in preparing contract documents
Document research and Field investigation
Using various types of CADD design software
Perform other duties as assigned
Projects which are currently active include work on DOT bridges and roadways, airports and private site developments.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Uphold workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Must have completed basic foundational courses including: Intro to Engineering, AutoCAD, Engineering Drafting course, and Mechanics/Statics.
CURRENT standing as a student actively enrolled in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering (or related) Undergraduate or Graduate Program.
The ability to work in the United States immediately.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
Preferred Qualifications
Must be motivated and have a strong desire to learn engineering skills related to civil and structural projects.
Experience with Microstation, AutoCAD and knowledge of reading drawings.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
