This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Structural Engineering Intern for our Morristown, NJ office. Be involved in projects with our Transportation Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

This opportunity is available for a college student in good standing working towards a degree in Civil Engineering within an accredited program.

Your Impact

• Assist more experienced Engineers in broader Engineering activities

• Perform basic calculations

• Perform routine Engineering functions

• Prepare sketches and drawings

• Assist with quantity and cost estimates

• Assist with field work, including bridge inspection

• Assisting in preparing contract documents

• Document research and Field investigation

• Using various types of CADD design software

• Perform other duties as assigned

• Projects which are currently active include work on DOT bridges and roadways, airports and private site developments.

• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

• Uphold workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Must have completed basic foundational courses including: Intro to Engineering, AutoCAD, Engineering Drafting course, and Mechanics/Statics.

• CURRENT standing as a student actively enrolled in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering (or related) Undergraduate or Graduate Program.

• The ability to work in the United States immediately.

• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

• Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

Preferred Qualifications

• Must be motivated and have a strong desire to learn engineering skills related to civil and structural projects.

• Experience with Microstation, AutoCAD and knowledge of reading drawings.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
