WSP is currently initiating a search for a Transit Systemwide Electrical Designer for our Minneapolis, MN office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversight and management of systemwide electrical design for rail projects
• Ability to coordinate with clients and rail project partners
• Technical planning, design, and testing requirements of rail system conduits and raceways
• Preparation of technical specifications for conduit and raceway construction and testing

Minimum Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in electrical system design
• Experience with private and public transportation, sitework, and building projects
• Bachelor or Associate degree in engineering
• Experience with projects with significant utility infrastructure
• Experience designing low and medium voltage electrical distribution systems
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code and local codes and standards for design and construction of above- and below-ground utility conduits
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with local utility companies and local railroad and rail transit projects
• Electric vehicle charging and electric bus experience is an added plus
• Understanding of Microstation and AutoCAD
• Professional engineer license preferred but not required
