Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Asia Pacific Looking for Manager, Global Sales (Auckland, New Zealand) at Auckland, New Zealand Full Time

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is currently seeking an experienced Manager, Global Sales (based in Auckland) to maximize the exposure of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts (WHR) franchised and managed hotels of all brands within the Australia and New Zealand territories. The manager will represent the hotels to the Corporate, TMC, Consortia, regional Hotel Booking Agents and meeting planners throughout the assigned territories. This position requires a consultative sales approach, acting in partnership with both corporate clients and their travel intermediaries to form a strong ‘tripartite’ relationship, thereby developing revenue opportunities and market share for our hotels, franchise partners, and WHR.

The Position

Reporting to the Regional Director, Global Sales for South East Asia & Pacific Rim, this role involves driving RFP solicitations from corporate clients into WHR properties, either directly or through nominated business travel intermediaries.

• Regional corporate account development: through new business development and effective account management processes, develop robust relationships with regional corporate clients/prospects to drive RFP solicitations, demand, market share, and revenues into WHR’s franchised/managed properties within the assigned region.
• Business travel account development: develop strategic partnerships with Corporate, Meeting Planners, Travel Management Companies, Consortia & Hotel Booking Agents to drive demand, market share and revenues into WHR’s franchised/managed properties within the region.
• Conference & event sales: delve into each client’s comprehensive hotel requirements, collaborate with them to oversee their Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (MICE) business needs using the GSO sales leads system.
• Outbound sales development: identify target prospects, conduct outbound customer calls to promote and sell products and service, driving business growth and expansion through lead generation.
• Internal relations & systems: work closely with team members from all Wyndham Worldwide business units, master franchisees, management partners, and hotels to ensure the continued success of the company, identify and support key stakeholders to achieve revenue goals and assist team members across the organization as needed.
• Industry participation: represent WHR at appropriate industry events such as Conferences & Trade Shows. In addition, become an active member of appropriate industry associations & institutions.
• Report: Provide weekly, quarterly, and annual sales goals reports to the regional leader
• Use of systems: Efficiently utilize systems and business tools (e.g., Salesforce Lightning, Cvent Transient, Birst, GSO Sales Leads, etc.) to update and maintain information

We Are Looking For…

You should be able to demonstrate the following:

• College/University Degree or additional experience equivalent
• 5+ years’ experience in hotel sales (property, national sales or global sales)
• Comprehensive commercial knowledge of hospitality sector in marketplace
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and targets
• Flexibility to adjust to the changing needs of the business, taking on new ideas, initiatives, brands and responsibilities as they present themselves
• Ability to work simultaneously on a number of initiatives and priorities often under pressure
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with people at all levels and from all backgrounds and parts of the world
• Ability to stay objective and fair when dealing with sensitive internal/external customer situations maintaining constructive working relations
