Position Summary
Provides leadership in developing and documenting procedures/processes to be utilized in Energy Supply, both Generation and Commercial Operations, to ensure compliance with new and revised Mandatory Reliability Standards regulations. Responsible for assessing compliance with the standards from a cross-functional perspective, conducts internal Energy Supply audits of standard evidence, prepares information for annual self-certifications, and coordinates information collection for regulatory audit materials. Manages the Reliability Standards program documentation and maintains compliance tracking software. Ensures business processes are aligned with the reliability compliance standards and works with business areas to address identified gaps.
Essential Responsibilities
Manages the material collection of required information to substantiate compliance with the Mandatory Reliability Standards for the fleet Generation and Commercial Operations areas of the Energy Supply organization. Responsible for the contractual compliance filing and data responsibilities for Energy Supply. Maintains required documentation and supporting materials. Works with business units to obtain additional information for compliance audits and special information requests as needed.
Provides technical support for the development and maintenance of policies and procedures to facilitate compliance with applicable regulatory requirements (i.e. Reliability, NERC, FERC, Regional Entities). Institutes changes to policy as needed due to regulation additions/revisions and works with the business units to ensure new and revised compliance standards are effectively integrated into operating procedures.
Conducts Energy Supply internal compliance audits across the generation fleet and Commercial Operations organizations. Coordinates and directs the overall audit process. Reviews internal processes, required documentation, and supporting materials to ensure compliance with standards and associated reporting requirements. Responsible for annual self-certification activities for Generation and Commercial Operations areas.
Consults with business units on any potential gaps/deficiencies identified in compliance audits and works with them to address issues in a timely manner. Reports gaps/deficiencies to Reliability Standard Compliance Manager and ensures resolution of issues, escalates issues to Manager as needed.
Performs other duties as necessary to support Corporate Compliance efforts, which may include training others and/or developing resources (checklists, tools, etc.) to assist the business with implementation of the reliability standard compliance program and Energy Supply processes regulated by the compliance standards.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
Knowledge of current NERC/FERC standards, requirements, and regulations as well as auditing or regulatory experience is highly desired.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experiencing interpreting complex rules and regulations as well as drafting policies/procedures is necessary.
Minimum of 4 years experience in the utility industry, with experience in power generation, Commercial Operations, audit services, regulatory compliance, or equivalent industrial power and/or equipment operations experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of generating facility operations, maintenance processes, and Commercial Operations is desired.
Demonstrated project management skills and ability to process/maintain large quantities of information. Involves up to 25% travel.
Salary range is $110,000-$130,000/year

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $110,000.00 to $130,000.00 per year
