Coordinates with Regional Transmission Planning group toincorporate regionally-focused needs and plans into the overall comprehensiveand balanced investment plan. Represents the company in various regionalcoordinating council, joint planning, and associated regulatory groups andmattResponsibilitiesLeads and provides vision for the development and coordination of short andlong term system models and plans to ensure system reliability,efficiency, economic benefit, and compliance with all applicabletransmission reliability standards and local, state and federalrequirements. Provides input and required data necessary to develop ajustified and prioritized transmission capital budget. Coordinates withRegional Transmission Planning group to incorporate regionally-focused needsand plans into the overall comprehensive and balanced investment plan.Develops, recommends, and implements transmission assetmanagement/planning strategies through discussion and negotiations withother internal asset management functions, neighboring utility planningmanagement, RTO/RRO staffs, internal and external regulatory staffs,advocacy groups and other public entities. Develops, implements, andcontinually improves a rigorous asset management analysis and prioritizationscheme in order to develop a comprehensive, risk-assessed and economictransmission plan and capital budget. Manages the development and operation ofunit’s operating budget including providing updated forecasts and monitoringof results. Ensures alignment with business unit organization and corporateobjLeads and coordinates TAM participation on project teams to further developand permit approved plans, including constructability and other assessments.Prepares, sponsors and directs preparation by others of transmissionplanning and other technical testimony, other regulatory filings andtechnical studies in support of corporate strategies on behalf on thecorporatiProvides leadership, direction and training for personnel regarding localand regional planning of the local and interconnected electric deliverysystem. Directs the work of supporting consultants. Coordinates the activitiesof the unit with internal and external organizations to support corporate andproject team objectives and meet customer needs.Represents Company in local/regional/national organizations (e.g.NERC, MAPP, WECC, SPP, EEI, RTO’s) and transmission planningforums as necessary. Stays abreast of new technologies and current industrypractices. Develops and presents or directs the development and presentationof technical transmission planning information before a variety of publicgroups and forums as necessary. Provides federal regulatory support andtransmission policy analysis support as necessary.RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required; Masters of Science Degree inElectrical Engineering or Masters in Business Administration is desirable.Professional Engineer registration is preferred.A minimum of 10 years of progressive transmiss
