How you’ll make an impact
You will play a pivotal role in providing support to Xero’s Product and Technology portfolios, working collaboratively with Senior Finance Leaders to deliver leading financial, planning and analysis across the business. You will develop an understanding of the Xero business environment and insight into its requirements for forecasting, budgeting and performance evaluation. You will develop and refine financial models, maintaining and updating assumptions and analysing outputs to meet the current and changing needs of the business. You will build strong relationships and communicate analysis and projection of information to many different levels and people throughout the company
What you’ll do
- Support Finance Leaders to drive faster and better decision making and performance management across the Product and Technology portfolios, developing an understanding of strategic direction and drivers and helping to highlight potential areas of risk or value.
- Lead the development of best in class analytics and dashboarding for the portfolios, working closely with the business for their inputs. Analyse results, interpret and provide insight through modelling, inquiry and challenge
- Supply and implement consolidated portfolio-wide reporting and analysis to provide insights for the portfolios, including variance analysis and evaluation of key metrics to drive performance and improvements in forecast accuracy.
- Contribute to the finance component of planning and forecasting for the business.
- Develop, review and refine financial models to support current and proposed products and investment, maintaining inputs and assumptions, providing insight and recommendations.
- Apply investment appraisal techniques and post implementation reviews to support the business in the evaluation of the finance component of strategies and investment opportunities.
- Build commercial skills and understanding of SaaS Metrics and the levers to drive value.
- Actively contribute to and provide support for projects/initiatives undertaken by the business and by the FP&A team
What you’ll bring with you
- 5+ years relevant experience.
- CA / CPA / CFA qualified.
- Experience in high growth technology or SaaS business would be a bonus
- Strong data manipulation skills, able to leverage advanced analytical capability and commercial modelling skills to build complex excel models.
- Business planning and forecasting skills.
- Performance reporting and management.
- Strong analytical capability.
- Problem solving skills, innovative thinker.
- Excellent planning skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask.
- Highly effective communicator and influencer with the ability to shift from technical analysis to building
