The Role: Xylem is seeking Intern candidates with an Information Technology background to join our team for a summer internship. The duties of this internship will range across the spectrum of supporting and implementing complex solutions around business need. This description is intended for the opportunity on the applications team.
Xylem Summer Internships typically last 10-12 weeks and are an opportunity to get hands-on, professional experience while making a lasting contribution to Xylem as an organization. Our internship program is intended to create a pipeline of talented undergraduate students who are interested in a career in the water innovation technology industry. Interns are our primary talent pool for all full-time early career positions and rotational programs. The Summer Internship is a great opportunity to learn more about Xylem and see if a career in water technology is right for you.
The hourly rate for an intern is dependent on a variety of factors including major, year in school and geographic location. The average hourly rate for an intern is between $21.00 – $27.00/hour. Locations of internships will vary based on the specified project and function, and will either be on-site, hybrid or fully remote. ”
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
Create and update application architecture documentation.
Create and update various process flow and roadmap diagrams based on business requirements.
Document data repositories and recommend best practices.
Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
Currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program in Information Systems, Information Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field. Must be in at least junior standing as of the Fall, 2023 semester.
Understanding and interest in Business Intelligence (BI) reporting.
A working knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI.
A basic understanding of Microsoft Azure Cloud or similar Cloud platforms
Classes or experience with C#, .NET programming, and SQL Server DB development including maintenance is helpful.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Strong decision making and organizational skills required
Ability to effectively and professionally present information in one-on-one and small group organization.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Familiarity with Microsoft office products, with ability to learn internal systems.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment
