Who we need:
Toronto Film School is actively seeking a Manager Student Engagement & Community. The successful candidate is responsible for developing, implementing and executing management and student-led initiatives relating to student engagement, with a primary focus on comprehensive orientation across TFS/O. You will provide guidance and leadership to all co- and extra-curricular activities and events, liaise with special interest groups, and strategize how to foster positive and inclusive community on-campus and online. You will foster student involvement, promote inclusivity, engage student leadership, and have direct oversight of all student activities across all programs within TFS/O.
The Manager of Student Engagement & Community will be personable, innovative, and self-motivated. They will be responsible for ensuring their events and initiatives are timely, within budget and meet engagement targets. Superior communications skills needed to work with senior leaders at the school, as well as those in the screen-based industry, will be instrumental for success within this role.
This position, within the Toronto Film School managerial team, will be based out of the 460 Yonge Street campus in Ontario and works in consultation with faculty and staff across programs and campuses in Canada. It also requires some flexible hours to support on-campus and online events.

What will you do:
– Manage the ideas and lead the development of initiatives and solutions.
– Research and compile data on relevant analytics to help determine future success of student engagement.
– Help Career Services to identify partnerships to strengthen industry opportunities for graduates.
– Consult on other business development initiatives across the business on an as-needed basis.
– Perform analysis on student initiatives and develop strategies on TFS student recruitment
– Provide input on successes achieved with sales and marketing to help improve our brand strategies.
– Create and develop a student engagement plan, analyzing data, identifying gaps, and introducing new approaches based on your research and insights.
– Track event participation and feedback through surveys to determine success,
– Evaluate organizational goals on a quarterly basis
What you bring:
– Degree/Diploma in a related field
– Minimum of 2 years of experience in delivering an exceptional customer experience
– Passionate about delivering an exceptional postsecondary student experience
– Setting students, clubs, teams, organizations, and programs up for high engagement and success
– Highly collaborative and have exceptional professional communication skills
– Develop and deliver content to groups of people
– An acute awareness and deep appreciation for diverse backgrounds and experiences
– Plan events from concept to completion, managing budgets, variables and resources
– Focused on finding solutions that are action-oriented, and you can leverage your network to exceed expectations and meet deadlines
– Prioritize a high volume of competing deliverables, maintain an open dialogue, and close the loop to ensure student satisfaction
– Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, balancing autonomy and independence with executive collaboration and cross-functional teamwork
– Lead while building trusted relationships with peers and students
– Ability to strategically plan and align student life (orientation, clubs, sports teams, etc.) goals, requirements, and expectations
– Exceptional communication skills and a proven ability to perform effectively in a team-based culture
– Manage, mentor, and grow a team of specialists
– You have experience guiding and evaluating staff performance
– Open to working extended hours during peak periods for student orientation, open houses, and other events as needed.
