Young Giants is an out sourced alternative provision, supporting children who are out of school. We provide one-to-one academic tuition and mentoring, in a child’s home or in suitable locations within the community (such as youth centres). We are a small team, run by qualified teachers and offer personal support to all of our tutors.

Building on our growing reputation as a quality provider, we are seeking new tutors to join our strong team of committed educators.

We are currently seeking experienced SEND teachers/tutors to support students with A Level Histor, Sociology and Government and Politics. Our students have additional learning/SEMH needs and candidates must be prepared to demonstrate knowledge and experience of working with learners with additional needs.

The candidate must have a sound understanding of delivering education support to young people with additional learning needs, as well as A Level Curriculum content.

Many of our tutors work full-time hours with us and we are able to provide block bookings of 2 to 5 hours per day.

We are seeking tutors who are committed to tuition and prioritise those applicants who are able to commit to their student for several months/academic terms/whole academic year.

Person Specification:

• Minimum – Bachelor’s Degree.
• Minimum 2 years teaching students with additional/SEMH needs in schools or in private settings.
• Enhanced DBS on the DBS Update system or willingness to have one carried out at a cost of £51
• Commitment to the academic development of students and a willingness to commit to termly timetables without missing lessons due to outside commitments
• Secure understanding of child safeguarding
