JOB SUMMARY
The Accountant II will prepare, interpret, and analyze complex accounting records of financial statements. Analyze and communicate the financial impact of business methods and trends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and maintain complete, accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Work with external auditors on assigned areas to ensure compliance with GAAP and identify and communicate any potential issues.
Research complex accounting issues, provide options, make recommendations and apply appropriately.
Prepare closing, eliminating, inter-company and consolidating journal entries. Review, prepare and adjust accrual entries.
Ensure internal controls within assigned areas are working and in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
Develop methods for analyzing and forecasting costs for use in periodic profit projections and present results of analysis to management. Ensure accounting estimates within assigned areas use sound methodology and adjust estimates as warranted.
Prepare timely and accurate account reconciliations and reviews in accordance with department guidelines.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor�s degree or equivalent educational background or work experience.
Four (4) years of related finance experience.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze financial reports and diagnose any accounting issues that arise.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities.
Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience using MS Office applications (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor�s Degree in Finance.
Three (3) or years of experience with an accounting firm.
Experience with PeopleSoft and/or fully integrated computer system.
CPA certification
WORKING CONDITIONS
This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying of 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
