Project Manager – Substance Use Health Emergency

This is a 1 year term full-time position, working 75 hours bi-weekly; temporary assignments may be considered.

The Territorial Health Investment Fund (THIF) is a Federal Government funding initiative composed of three funding streams: territorial funding stream, pan-territorial funding stream, and medical travel funding stream.

Reporting to the ADM, Community and Primary Care, this position is responsible for the coordination and leadership of current projects undertaken by the department in relation to the Substance Use Health Emergency and will be the primary liaison with non-governmental organizations.

Essential Qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications listed below – specifically – how your work experiences and related duties align with these essential qualifications. • Post-secondary education in Business Administration with Project Management focus, Healthcare or Clinical field, or related
• Experience building and maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships/partnerships with First Nations communities, and NGOs
• Experience planning and developing new services or projects

Candidates who have education, and experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Suitability

Candidates should have and may be assessed on:

• Ability to define project goals and work plans with timelines and deliverables to ensure the early integration of projects.
• Demonstrated ability to proactively manage changes in project scope, identify risks, and develop contingency plans where appropriate.
• Knowledge of social and Indigenous determinants of health in Canada.
• Strong ability to clearly communicate both oral and written project status reports and project presentations.
• Excellent ability to collaborate and engage multiple and diverse stakeholders (within and outside the territory)
• Enthusiastic, highly motivated and are able to produce effective results in accordance with political direction
• Strategic focus to understand issues and opportunities that impact health services
• Self-awareness and the ability to identify when and how to seek out information and direction from others, and how to effectively support decision-makers within the department and government.
• Strong skills with project management tools such as Excel, OneNote and Powerpoint
