This posting is to hire a permanent full-time (75 hours biweekly) Administrative Assistant.
An eligibility list will be established from this competition.
Under the direction of the Manager, Community Outreach Services, you will responsible for the provision of administrative, reception, and secretarial support to units within the Social Supports Branch, Community Outreach Services, Adult Protection Service and Employment and Training Services. These units require timely and efficient services be provided to clients and service partners.

Essential Qualifications

Experience in providing reception support such as greeting clients, forwarding phone calls, answering clients’ inquires, etc.
Experience in providing a wide range of administrative tasks such as word processing, proofreading, formatting, record management, scheduling, organizing meetings, etc.
Experience with financial administration such as travel claims, purchase orders, cheque requisitions, etc.
Knowledge, Skills & Suitability
Candidates should have and maybe assessed on:

Ability to work effectively in a busy/fast environment setting with a high level of stress
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage highly sensitive information

Conditions of Employment: Vulnerability Sector Clearance, WHMIS, HIPMA (complete within one month of hire),
Job Requirement: This position is in a standard office environment, must meet regular, critical deadlines with constant interruptions, frequent demands from people other than their direct Supervisor. The position deals by telephone with emotionally upset clients, often with individuals with unstable mental health and substance use disorders.
