Yukon Government Looking for Labourer at Whitehorse, YT Full Time

This posting will be used to fill anticipatory Casual and/or Auxiliary Labourer positions in various locations.

Highways and Public Works

We are looking for candidates who are safety and service orientated, motivated to learn and are dedicated to working in an environment which promotes respect, dependability and reliability.

This positing is to establish a pool of qualified candidates for anticipatory hires during our busy summer season.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should have and may be assessed on their:

• Related work experience preferably in highway maintenance or highway construction
• Related work experience with traffic control would be an asset

Additional Information

Conditions of Employment: Must possess and maintain a valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s licence; Transportation Dangerous Goods Certificate (must be obtained within 6 months of hire).

Job Requirements: Travel, working in adverse weather conditions, mandatory use of personal protective equipment, adhering to the safety program and all applicable policies and procedures, shift work, and working outside of headquarters area for extended periods of time.
