The Land Management Branch is an effective steward of public land for the benefit of current and future generations of all Yukon people.

As part of the Client Services team, the Lands Officer leads the review and analysis of land applications; drafts legal documents; and manages land sales, leases, and licenses. The Lands Officer collaborates with interdepartmental and intergovernmental representatives for input and consultation related to land applications and dispositions.

Essential Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in resource management, natural sciences, geography, land planning, or a related field
• Experience working within a legislative or policy framework
• Experience with land and/or resource project management – coordinating and/or leading projects
• Experience working with stakeholders and legislated timelines, managing multiple projects or processes at all stages
• Experience working with GIS and databases is an asset
• Experience participating in YESAA or other legislated environmental review processes is an asset

Candidates who have education, training, and experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Job Requirements:

• Willingness to travel within the Yukon
• Obtain Notary public certification within 6 months of start date.
• Class 5 driver’s licence
