This opportunity…
The Corporate Services Division of Highways and Public Works provides critical central agency services to government and direct services to the department itself. We provide acquisition, risk management, insurance, purchasing, asset management, printing, mail delivery, travel, and fleet vehicle services to Yukon government departments. We also provide policy, communications, and finance services to the Department of Highways and Public Works. Our division employs analysts, procurement specialists, purchasing officers, accountants and many other professionals.
As part of the team at Supply Services Branch and reporting to the Mail Services Supervisor, this position is responsible for providing mailroom services on behalf of Yukon Government departments by processing incoming postal mail and outgoing official mail, pick-up and delivery of internal mail, pouch mail and parcels of all sizes, confidential and boxed record moves, parcel processing (including the use of computers and equipment), express mail services, and directory services, as well as performing other related duties as required. This position works inside and outside in all types of weather.

Essential Qualifications (what we’re looking for in your resume):
Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
Customer/client service experience
Courier and/or delivery experience
Experience performing minor vehicle maintenance (e.g., checking tire pressure, checking and maintaining fluid levels, etc.)
Experience working in an office environment
If your resume shows education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above, your application may be equally considered.
All candidates who screen through will be required to provide a copy of their driver’s abstract prior to an invitation being issued for an interview.

Knowledge of Yukon traffic laws;
Knowledge of Whitehorse and surrounding area.
Conditions of Employment
Have and maintain a valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
Job Requirements
Ability to lift weights up to 30 kilograms, work in adverse weather conditions.
