Reporting to the Supervisor of Child Care Services, the Child Care Inspector is primarily responsible for licensing Child Care programs in the Yukon, and monitoring compliance to the Child Care Act, and Regulations. The position is responsible for receiving, reviewing, evaluating and investigating complaints from the public regarding early learning and child care programs and conducting risk evaluation and assessments. The positon also administers various funding programs which support early learning and child care within the Territory.

Reporting to the Director, Early Learning and Child Care Branch, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, administering and evaluating the delivery of Early Learning and Child Care services in the Yukon and ensuring the coordination of policies and services and participating in needs assessment, policy formulation, program development and implementation. You will provide leadership and case management oversight to the Child Care Inspectors, provide consultation services to departmental staff and communities on early learning and child care programs and assist in the co-ordination and provision of community development and education services with regards to children.
