Your Role

We are currently looking for a dynamic Junior Data Scientist to help us reimagine the future. This role is pivotal in building out ZURU’s Data Science capabilities, with a strong focus on leveraging marketing science principles, e-commerce strategies, and commercial sales data to support ZURU’s international growth. Your expertise in handling complex data sets and translating them into actionable insights will empower our teams to make informed, data-driven decisions, enhancing the effectiveness of our campaigns and boosting our market presence.

Your collaboration with diverse teams and ability to communicate complex data insights will be essential in shaping strategic decisions at all levels of the organization. You will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in our data analytics practices, setting new standards in data integrity and analytical processes.

Your role as a Junior Data Scientist will be crucial in propelling ZURU’s global growth and success through impactful data analysis, modelling, and strategic insights.

Note: We will start reviewing the applications in mid-January 2024.

What You Will Be Doing

• Assist in the measurement, benchmarking, and optimization of marketing and commercial strategies to create tangible business impacts. Utilize data-driven approaches to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
• Engage actively with digital teams, brand teams, external partners, and even directly with our executive team. This involves communicating clearly the results of an analysis, tests and studies while facilitating the formulation of meaningful questions which will help teams make data informed decisions.
• Aid in the delivery of advanced measurement methods, including cross-channel attribution, marketing mix modelling, propensity to purchase/churn analysis, global benchmarking, correlation regression analysis, time series sequencing, and econometric models.
• Contribute to and consult on broader business data and analytics initiatives, leveraging your expertise in data science disciplines. This may involve working with or leading offshore resources as needed.
• Aid in the data pipeline development focused on measurement and Analytics utilizing cloud infrastructure. Deliver High quality data pipelines and feature engineering to facilitate econometric and AI/ML models and

Your Skills & Experiences

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, or a related field.
• Grad – 2 years experience in a technical analyst role (financial, marketing, commercial or similar).
• Enthusiastic about BI reporting, with some experience in Power BI, Tableau, or Amazon QuickSight.
• Experience in Python and SQL would be a benefit.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Demonstrable experience in transforming and working with large, complex, and unstructured datasets is a plus.
• Some understanding of cloud computing platforms, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS) components like S3, EC2, AWS Glue, or Redshift, is advantageous.
• Some familiarity with MarTech tools, such as Google Analytics or Facebook Ads, is beneficial.
• A strong passion for Data Science is key for success in this role.
