The Impact You’ll Make in this RoleAs a Security Engineer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by deploying and administering security applications used to monitor and protect sensitive health information, identifying and resolving security threats, and communicating security best practices and strategies to development and business teams.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Enhance the security control platforms in a FedRAMP environment

• Demonstrate the level of compliance with established cloud security frameworks like the CIS CSC top 20, FedRAMP, and AWS Security Best Practices

• Communicate security vulnerabilities to application teams and operational groups using a clear and concise written communication style

• Provide visibility through measurement and experimentally proving out results

• Provide administration and maintenance of security systems, such as endpoint protection, web application firewall, and vulnerability management solutions

• Provide incident response and security operations for critical, production systems

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

OR

• Eleven (11) years of experience in Software Engineering/Security Engineering

• Seven (7) years experience in IT system administration, information security, or software engineering

• Must be able to obtain government clearance

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Four (4) years of information security experience in a government or military environment

• Experience with AWS or Azure cloud environments

• Familiar with cloud security frameworks like the CIS CSC top 20 or AWS Security Best Practices

• Proficient Python or similar scripting languages

• Solid understanding of networking and data transfer methods

• Experience with security tools such as SIEM, WAF, EDR, and/or DLP

Travel: May include up to 10%

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized – able to work remotely

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
