The Impact You’ll Make in this RoleAs a Production Planner, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Leading cross functional projects across the business to effectively drive change in service, cost, and inventory.
Developing and maintaining operating rhythms to ensure smooth supply chain operations, aligning supply with demand.
Providing a high degree of planning analysis to support decision making.
Publishing and presenting service and inventory metrics and results.
Identifying and leading projects that improve supply chain speed and inventory investment.
Reviewing reports on project progress with management.
Working closely with the business unit to understand customer requirements and forecasts.
Working closely with manufacturing to ensure alignment to business requirements by setting and maintaining sufficient inventory levels and lead times.
Actively managing working and non-working inventories in assigned businesses to maintain compliance and achieve inventory investment targets.
Utilizing Supply Chain tools and processes such as DMPT, Peoplesoft, GDMR, SAP, MES.
Utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve service, inventory turns, and non-working inventory
Utilizing Supply Chain parameter management tools to optimize planning parameters (safety stock, lot size, EOQ, Loop & Supermarket, lead time)
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Working towards a Bachelor’s degree that will be completed within twelve (12) months of hire date from an accredited institution
Two (2) years combined experience in supply chain, transportation, logistics, manufacturing, production, and/or customer service in a private, public, government or military environment.
Proficient in Microsoft office – (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Experience with a Manufacturing Execution and/or Planning System (e.g. SAP, Proprietary, Oracle, JDA, etc.)
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) CPIM certification is preferred. If not complete at the time this position is assumed, the certification will become part of the employee professional development plan as agreed between management and the employee.
Six Sigma Green Belt project experience and/or certification
Experience with an ERP (e.g. SAP, Oracle, etc.)
Experience in Lean Scheduling or Lean Manufacturing
Experience with Microsoft VBA Macros, SQL, MS Cloud Apps (e.g. Teams, SharePoint, Power BI).
Travel: May include up to10% Domestic
Location: Aberdeen, SD – This is not a Remote Position
