As our Director, Regional Operations – Newfoundland and Labrador the successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and operational direction to the regional operational, sales and administrative team to ensure achievement of branch and regional objectives and champion organizational operating standards as they relate to safety, quality, service, finance, and people.

Some of the additional expectations of this role include:

• Championing safety leadership in all aspects of the operation through regular communication of safety objectives; review of safety performance; and adherence to safety standards, policies and procedures established in the HSE system;
• Developing and executing, in consultation with the corporate leadership team, the regional business plan and budget, ensuring alignment with the overall corporate strategic plan;
• Providing daily leadership to the assigned region(s) ensuring achievement of established operational standards, sales targets, growth objectives and profitability targets across all regional operations;
• Facilitating collaborative efforts across the region to support execution of large-scale projects/contracts in accordance with contractual requirements as well as client, company, regulatory and safety requirements;
• Monitoring individual branch operations and P&L performance within the region ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of services and solutions to clients and where needed, develop branch specific improvement programs to address identified issues;
• Growing business operations in the region working with the business development, sales, and branch leadership team to identify opportunities for increased market education and awareness of the brand as well as strategic partnerships, market development and market expansion opportunities;
• Building meaningful customer relationships across the region through regular interaction;
• Building, managing, and developing a high performing, cohesive regional team possessing the requisite training, skills, and customer focus while adhering to Human Resources processes and procedures involving on-boarding, performance management, recruitment, training, and compensation;
• Fostering a work environment conducive to open communication, initiative, and team work to maintain high levels of morale and a welcome growth-oriented mindset; and
• Driving continuous improvement of workflows, processes, procedures to inform operational excellence efforts company-wide.

The successful candidate must be:

• Able to work overtime and travel overnight to support operational requirements.

The preferred candidate would have a variety of experience, qualifications, and skills including:

• 5+ years of experience in an operational or regional management role leading a field service delivery team or similar multi-site operating environment;
• Experience in the marine, fire, life safety, mechanical, or other related technical field; and
• Industry or post-secondary training in field or operations management, marine services, fire protection, or related field would be considered an asset.

NOTE: All combinations of education in a related and experience will be considered.

Given the nature of our operations, they must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to remote client sites and other operating locations. Overtime may be necessary; therefore, flexibility in hours of work will be required.
