This includes performing preventive and corrective maintenance,testing and troubleshooting of proprietary ABB hardware and software. Primaryduties will be commissioning of projects, upgrades, new installations andadvanced services. This individual will be required to work independently oras part of a small site team to provide service for customers of ABBdistributed control solutions.This position reports toCommissioning Service ManagerYour responsibilitiesMaintain ABB’s suite of distributed control system (DCS) hardware andsoftware. Handle customer questions about the state of the ABB systemHandle customer service related issues while fostering the customerrelationship and working to solve technical problems on site. Deal directlywith and communicate effectively with plant operators, plant management,third party vendors and other ABB personnel in support of service operationsTroubleshoot and repair equipment applying own technical knowledge andexperience to resolve problems. Training on ABB products and services will beprovided; however, a basic understanding of computer networks, computersoftware(operating systems) and DCS (Distributed control system)systems (architecture, project engineering and HMI (Human MachineInterface)/graphic creation) is required in order for the training to bebeneficial. Recommend changes such as new equipment or modified procedures toimprove performance and customer satisfaction. Conduct detailed inventoriesand inspections to determine necessary maintenance and repairsAccurately document the work that is performed at a customer facility and/orproject staging area. Professionally document work completed on periodicpreventive maintenance as well as intermittent corrective maintenance tasks.Assist in planning and coordinating team efforts. Often work non standardschedules at field locations with exposure to varying environmental conditionsPerform field service operations that may involve unusual problems requiringstrong technical skills. Conduct tests or experiments requiring selection andadaptation or modification of equipment and procedures. Record, compile andreduce data for analysis and assist in related assessment and preparation ofreports.
