Description:

Perform sterile technique, compounding medications, ordering / inventory of chemo and oncology drugs. 70% oncology, 30% other (GI, Neuro).

Must haves:

• 1-2 years of experience with compounding hazardous drugs

• PTCB Certification

• IV compounding

• NJ Pharmacy License

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Calculate accurate volumes and concentrations for admixing medications and diluents

• Follow appropriate diluent selection for medications (i.e. saline vs D5W, and volume 250mL vs 500mL)

• Compound intravenous sterile drug preparations using aseptic technique (in an horizontal laminar flow hood in an IV room)

• Compound intravenous hazardous (chemotherapy) sterile drug preparations using aseptic technique (in a vertical laminar flow hood with negative pressure in an IV room)

• Manipulate using closed system transfer devices (Equashield®)

• Utilize EPIC EHR software to scan and prepare accurate ingredients when admixing

• Attach appropriate tubing (refer to references for filter vs non-filtered, sorbing vs non-sorbing)
