Actalent Looking for Software Engineer (Entry/Junior Level) at Ashburn, VA Full Time

• Description:* Our client is seeking a Software Engineer to join the team.

This person will be part of the team that develops ScanImage. They will contribute with peers to deliver two major ScanImage releases per year.

They will define, execute and deliver software features independently as well as develop, test and document code for ScanImage in a team environment. They will work with data acquisition hardware to enable software control of microscopes.

Provide email, phone, remote and on-site support for ScanImage users.

Routinely solicit feedback from users to improve code and develop a list of future features.

• Required Skills:*
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics
• 1+ years of experience within software development
• Ability to execute projects independently
• Knowledge of MATLAB including: * ○ Object oriented MATLAB * ○ Native code interfaces (mex functions, calllib)
• Knowledge C/C++
• Permit to work in the United States (perm resident or USC)
• Desired Skills: *
• Experience in LabVIEW FPGA and Verilog are nice to have
• Experience in GPU programming is nice to have
• Experience with data acquisition hardware and associated drivers a must * ○ NI DAQmx, NI RIO, NI PXI
• Neuroscience exposure is a nice to have
• Previous microscope design and control experience is preferred
• Expert communication skills in English (written and oral)
