The role you’ll contribute:
The Digestive Health Institute – Program Manager serves as an expert in change management, performance improvement, project management methodologies for the Digestive Institute. Serves as the liaison for Executive Director, Digestive Health & Surgery Institute and Program Medical Director Digestive Health and Surgery Institute (Gastroenterology, Colorectal Surgery, General Surgery, Endocrinology / Diabetes Institute) , working closely with the leadership team of Acute Care Services (ACS), Integrated Health Services (IHS), Institute leadership, Finance, and Business Development on initiatives include new program development, care model optimization, care transformation, specialty accreditation and certifications, and third party partnerships. Responsible for leading multiple strategic initiatives for the Institutes across the Central Florida Division as directed by the organizations strategic priorities. This strategic role is responsible for collaborating with executives, leaders, and physicians across the division to ensure appropriate processes and resources for successful strategic program execution.Designs and develops comprehensive programs and identifies barriers to execution to meet organizational timelines. Responsible for building relationships that foster collaboration and trust while ensuring all program deadlines, documentation, and accountabilities are met. Serves as a content expert in change management and performance improvement strategies to drive execution.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Responsible for oversight strategic program management, process improvement and program design across the Institutes for the Central Florida Division. Works with Digestive Health Institute and campus executives to appropriately scope out strategic initiatives, engage executive sponsors, facilitate program development, identify barriers and create solutions to mitigate risk, and monitor measures of success. Collaborates with Institute and campus leadership in the development of Proformas as part of new program implementation.
On behalf of Vice President of Digestive Health Institute, autonomously manages executive level projects, presents at divisional and market committees, communicates strategic program updates with Institute leadership team. Partners with the Institute’s Program Medical Director of Digestive Health on physician performance improvement initiatives.
Serves as content expert on performance improvement and change management methodologies. Responsible for redesigning processes or developing clinical and operational processes for new service line programs. Utilizes expert knowledge on change management and performance improvement to partner with leadership for successful project execution.
Leads the development of comprehensive return on investment (ROI) for each strategic program implementation or large quality improvement initiative to quantify investment and track overall cost reduction. Partners with financial, operational, and executive leaders to monitor progress and success.
Prioritizes multiple competing projects, deadlines, and customer relationships. Manage project objectives within the project scope and timeframe. Ability to work autonomously on executive level projects with minimal direction. Responsible for overseeing Institute performance metrics to identify areas of performance improvement opportunity.
Partners with corporate analytics to design and implement dashboards to monitor key indicators and processes to ensure long term success. Serves as liaison with leadership to identify barriers and design of performance improvement initiatives to improve performance.
Serves as an internal consultant to the Digestive Institute leadership team on performance improvement and change management by helping to scope projects, identify opportunities, redesign operational processes, and implement changes. Responsible for developing training and educational opportunities for leadership to enhance organizational talent.
Responsible for oversight of Digestive Health Institute specialty accreditation and certification programs across the Central Florida Division. Collaborates with Digestive Health Institute and operational leaders to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance, comprehensive gap analysis, action plan and monitoring, as well as overall program structure.
Mentors and develops leaders as a subject matter expert in performance improvement, project management, and change management tools and methodologies. Provides project guidance to Institute team members and may assign support tasks/responsibilities as necessary.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with six or more years of relevant experience, or
Master’s degree with four or more years of relevant experience in Healthcare, Business or related field
Experience leading complex organization projects
Project Management and/or Performance Improvement experience
Responsible for overseeing numerous national accreditations to ensure compliance
Expert with quality & process improvement methodologies
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships with various disciplines that foster trust
Strong leadership skills including public speaking, communication, and team building
Strategic Program development and multi-year planning processes
Strong critical thinking skills and ability to balance multiple competing priorities
Strong analytics skills
Ability to work in a complex matrix relationship
Ability to mentor, enhance, and engage organizational talent
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint and Excel)
Preferred Qualifications:
Project Management Certification
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
Lean / Six Sigma Black Belt or other equivalent certfication
Change Management certification
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or eqivalent quality certification
Experience leading national specialty accreditation or certification
Leadership experience in a large healthcare system
Experience working in large healthcare systems in specialty service lines such as: Digestive Health, GI, cardiovascular, neurosurgery, oncology, general surgery or critical care areas
Strategic program development
National specialty accreditation and certifications
Quality improvement experience with outcomes, value-based purchasing, bundle payment, and other national quality improvement initiatives
