Central Scheduler (.5 and above) are eligible for a $1,000 sign on bonus payable after 90 days of employment. This bonus is eligible to newly hired external applicants (current AAH Team Members are not eligible at this time).
CENTRAL SCHEDULER
Monday – Friday 10:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Saturday 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Saturday rotation every 3-4 weeks)

The Central Scheduler schedules, pre-registers and financially clears patients for diagnostic testing and non-invasive procedures. Ensures prompt, courteous and expedient service to patients, physicians, physician office staff and participating hospital departments when answering phones and collecting information. Records accurate, timely, thorough and compliant demographic, insurance and clinical data in the scheduling and registration systems to ensure patients can be expedited through the registration process on the day of service. Interacts in a customer focused and compassionate manner to ensure patients and representatives needs are met and when appropriate, they understand the Medical Center’s policies for resolution of financial liabilities
Collects, analyzes and Places reminder calls to pre-registered patients 24-48 hours prior to service date and ensures each accounts’ financial clearance disposition is correct and easily identified for the date of service registrar.â€Â¯Ã¢€Â¯d records accurate and compliant demographic and clinical information in the scheduling system. Meets or exceeds productivity standards
Accurately collects, records and analyzes all required demographic, insurance/financial and clinical data necessary to preregister/preadmit patients from all payer classes. Meets standards for productivity defined as 100% scheduled patients pre-registered prior to arrival
Performs revenue cycle activities that prevent payment denials, increase cash collections and assures appropriate financial disposition of account balances. Meets defined standards for quality. i.e., all components of the pre-reg process must be completed pre-service, including discussions with patients when necessary. Accounts should require minimal registrar intervention on the actual date of service
Places reminder calls to pre-registered patients 24-48 hours prior to service date and ensures each accounts’ financial clearance disposition is correct and easily identified for the date of service registrar.â€Â¯Ã¢€Â¯
May bend, stoop, twist and reach in conjunction with the job requirements.
May lift files, reference books, supplies, and other documents up to 10 lbs
May walk and push a wheeled cart with a computer and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs
This is both a sedentary and active position.
Employee is regularly exposed to noise associated with working around others in an office setting.
May be exposed to a variety of illness and medical conditions.
Must be able and willing to work weekends, holidays and occasionally other shifts.
Must be able and willing to rotate work environments, ED, OP/ADM, Rover, Check-In, Phone Desk, etc.
May need to work shifts at off-site locations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED
Prefers 2-3 years related experience in a healthcare setting (revenue cycle experience preferred), hospital, physician office or insurance company.
Applicable education may be substituted
Basic knowledge of medical terminology
Successful completion of a data entry assessment
Effective organizational and prioritization skills
Exhibits sophisticated interviewing, communication and negotiation skills
Possesses intermediate math and business writing skills
Knowledge of office equipment
Computer literate
Demonstrated customer service skills
