We are recruiting Environmental Consultants to join our diverse Environment & Sustainability business in Ireland. Ideally you will be located in Dublin, our office is in Dún Laoghaire. We welcome interest from candidates looking for either a part-time or full-time position.

As an Environmental Consultant you will help coordinate environmental inputs to large-scale development projects that are transforming our infrastructure – this includes data centres, rail, road and greenways, power generation (renewable energy), power transmission, ports, airports, water, land development projects.

You will provide environmental inputs across all project lifecycles; from early strategy development, through feasibility, optioneering/ option selection, outline design, to detailed design, discharging of conditions, construction and scheme operation/maintenance. For such projects you will help coordinate multidisciplinary environmental inputs, working closely with design teams to intercept and mitigate potential environmental effects, engaging and consulting across a wide range of audiences, as well as effectively managing resources and budgets.

You will work daily with technical experts within our established Environmental Impact team. We are a founding member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) EIA Quality Mark, whilst everything we do aligns with our environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy.

Your role will include:

• Helping to coordinate multidisciplinary environmental inputs to projects across a wide range of sectors, with a focus on the management of EIAs in support of gaining development consent. Includes coordinating the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR), Construction Environmental Plans and the technical review of specialist technical reports
• Working in partnership with members of our technical environmental teams
• Liaising with clients and internal supply teams
• Working as part of integrated design teams to identify environmental constraints, avoid impacts and develop solutions in accordance with the mitigation hierarchy, as well as delivering benefits where possible
• Help with the coordination of resources and budgets (with support as applicable)
• Input to business development opportunities and associated fee and technical proposal development
• Promoting AECOM’s environmental services to both internal and external audiences

You’ll have:

To apply for this will role, you’ll need to be able to demonstrate interest of coordinating multidisciplinary environmental inputs to infrastructure development projects. Ideally you should also have:

• Interest or experience of coordinating EIA projects, environmental assessment methods and applicable planning legislation
• Confidence when engaging with a wide variety of stakeholder groups
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of an established team, helping to coordinate inputs from specialist technical teams
• Excellent verbal and report writing skills, including technical reviewing with an eye for detail
• Developing project management skills, with an interest in staff resource management and budget management
• A degree in a relevant environmental discipline (preferably a Masters degree) and an appropriate professional membership
• Willingness to travel to client offices
• Right to work in the Ireland. Unfortunately we are unable to progress applications requiring visa sponsorship at this time.

The following would be a bonus:

• Interest in working towards Chartered Environmentalist status
• Experience of various consenting regimes an advantage
