Description:

We’re looking for a Floor Technician environmental service worker (EVS) to maintain environmental and infection control standards at a large hospital in the Twin Cities.

Responsible for performing a variety of project and cleaning functions, including carpet cleaning, and maintaining hard surfaces and ceramic tile floors and surfaces. Operate a variety of equipment and machines.

Additional Job Duties:

• Dusts furniture, woodwork and equipment and dust-mops floors. Polishes and cleans fixtures in rooms and bathrooms.

• Operates mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, shampooers, etc.

• Wet-mops rooms, halls and other areas; shampoos rugs and furniture.

• Cleans vents, fan fixtures, top of windows, door frames, etc.

• Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials using specified bags or containers.

• Buffs, strips, waxes and polishes floors.

• Room turnovers/discharges – performing terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares rooms for new occupants.

• Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors and walls of bathrooms.

• Customer Service – must be a good communicator with co-workers + hospital tenants/guests.

• Infection prevention

Must haves:

• Minimum of 3 to 4 years directly related experience in floor care and environmental service

• Operate cleaning equipment

• Must be able to work on your feet, moving around for an entire shift

• Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.

Preferred:

• EVS Experience

• Experience in a hospital or a clinic

• Infection control or disinfecting experience

• CHEST Certified preferred
